Manager

I was filling some template today and in that I had to mention my manager's name. The template is a Miscrosoft Word document. I filled up the document and as usual I could see those irritating worms (spell check related). One of those worms was on my manager's last name. I right clicked on that (out of curiosity). What would I see? shepherd was on top of the list. How ironical!!

I think this kind of a setup is more suited for them rather than they themself coming to mainstream. Just don't budge to anything and if the other (coalition) partner doesn't agree, well..you have the a good weapon in your armoury "We will mobilise people and protest".

Planning to switch over to Hutch

I am an Airtel prepaid user currently. I am just tired of the spam that these guys spit out. Inspite of talking to the customer care (duh..oxymoronish), nothing has changed. I still get spam sms about getting free tickets to shahrukh's show, changing ringtones and what not. But the thing I hate the most is the automated call I get from 9845911123. And every time you call the reps, they say 'Thanks for calling Mr XXXX, We have forwarded your request to the concerned department. Action will be taken in 1-2 days". THATS IT. NOTHING CHANGES. DAMN YOU!!!!

So I have decided to switch over to Hutch (Do I have any more choices?). Don't know how good Hutch is in this respect? Have to figure it out before I commit to anything.

Dean Jones keen to coach India

I kinda like this guy. Typical no-nonsense aussie. I don't know how good a coach he will turn out to be (if in case BCCI hires him..that is) since he hasn't coached any team till now. That should definitely not the reason to reject him, but given the proximity of World Cup 2007, I do think that BCCI would go in for an established coach.

kde-cygwin

Was not in a mood to work today, felt like doing something wacko. So, I setup KDE on the cygwin installation I had on WinXp.


http://kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net/kde3/installation.php has enough information to get going. Also looked at The Independant QT tutorial and succeeded in writing my first GUI using Qt. Here is the screenshot, don't ask me what it does :-)
